• It is preferable to dry clean Indian cashmere wool at a professional laundry, especially for sewn clothes and jackets.
• If you have to wash it by hand, use cold or slightly lukewarm water that does not exceed 30°C with a soap specifically for wool or soft fabrics.
• Avoid vigorous rubbing or scrubbing; gently move the cloth in the water without wringing it violently.
• Rinse with the same water temperature without a sudden change so that the fabric does not shrink.
• Do not wring the fabric, Lulu; press gently to remove excess water.
• Heat drying (dryer/tumble dryer) is prohibited because it shrinks the wool and ruins the texture.
• Dry the fabric while it is laid out on a towel on a flat surface in a shady place away from direct sunlight and heat.
• Avoid hanging it while it is wet so that it does not stretch or change shape.
• When ironing, use low to medium heat with light steam, and place a light piece of cotton between the iron and the fabric so that it does not shine.
• It is preferable to steam the garment while it is hanging instead of applying strong pressure with an iron to maintain its smoothness.
• Store the pieces in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated cupboard, inside breathable fabric covers, using pieces of cedar wood or lavender to protect against moths and dust.
